Havana Silk Dogs are so lovable that HSDAA breeders and pet owners all agree that Silks are the perfect dog for almost every household.

The HSDAA has breeders all across the country, click here to find a happy heathy havana silk dog puppy today.

Adorable. Charming. Delightful. Gorgeous. Irristible. Loveable. Precious.

Those words apply to just about any Havana Silk Dog, but a great picture is worth all of those words and more. Show off your dog’s special winning ways in a photo, and you may become a winner of the 2019 HSDAA Photo Contest!

All entries meeting specifications will be published in the Summer 2019 Silk Road so this is the perfect way to make your dog famous!

  • First place winner’s photograph will appear on the front cover
  • Second place winner’s photograph will appear on the back cover
  • Winning photos in each category will be specially featured

The HSDAA Photo Contest will feature the following categories:

  1. Action
  2. Classic (with authentic background only)
  3. Puppies
  4. Multiple Silks
  5. Silk and other animals (not eligible for top prize)

There will be a winner for each category and an overall first- and second-place winner chosen from all categories. These two overall winning photographs will grace the front and back covers of the Summer 2018 Silk Road.

Photo Specifications

Photos must be high resolution for quality printing. If you have a 10 megapixel camera with its settings set for the highest resolution, an uncropped photo will meet our minimum resolution requirements for the top winners. Sadly, phone photos seldom meet the resolution requirements for our magazine.

For those using actual cameras (not phones), contest photos must be at least 2600 x 3400 pixels, or 8.75 x 11.5 inches at 300 dpi (dots per inch).

To be considered for the top prizes, the photo must be oriented vertically (portrait, not landscape format) in order to fit on the cover of the Silk Road. So rotate your camera and take a photo that is taller than it is wide.

Landscape-oriented photos may be submitted, but will not be eligible for the front and back covers of the Silk Road
