In 2007 the HSDAA was incorporated in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a not-for-profit corporation to preserve, protect, and responsibly promote the Havana Silk Dog. It currently serves over three hundred members representing the US, Canada, and several foreign countries.
The goals of this parent club are to preserve the Havana Silk Dog as a separate and rare breed.
