If your Havana Silk Dog is spayed or neutered (or scheduled to be when she/he is old enough!) and has parents in the registry, obtaining Companion Dog registration is easy as 1-2-3. Just follow the simple directions below. (If you are not sure if your dog is eligible, just ask your breeder, or send an email to: registration_secretary @havanasilkdog.org )

2. Fill out the EZ Form and print it out.
3. Mail the completed form (along with a $10 check made out to HSDAA!) to:

Now, you've probably figured out that an HSDAA Companion Dog doesn't need as much (like a DNA profile, CHIC #. and all that other stuff) as an intact (breeding dog) does. HOWEVER, any HSDAA member's Companion Dog can still be evaluated, once he/she is two years old.
Conformation Certificates are awarded to dogs who have been evaluated against the standard and received a passing score .
Besides getting a very cool Certificate suitable for framing, the data provided by this program will allow the HSDAA to track progress made in the breed over generations in areas of breed type and structure, and Certificates awarded to Companion dogs count toward their sire and dam's production record. (In the HSDAA, awards are based on the number of offspring earning Conformation Certificates that a dog or bitch has, rather than the number of champions produced.)
It will ALSO give you an opportunity to show your Companion dog at any HSDAA show, where you will meet lots of other owners and their Havana Silk Dogs- these are fun events for dogs and people alike! Companion Dogs can earn Companion Championship titles at HSDAA shows!
Of course, our very cool Conformation Certificates/Champion Titles are only awarded to dogs belonging to HSDAA members, so if you haven't filled out a membership application yet, you can do it right now by clicking on the PDF icon below:
