Silk Road Spring 2013 - page 6

Greetings HSDAA members!
I just wanted to pass along my well wishes for a happy 2013, an enjoyable spring with your Silk Dogs, and
hopefully some wonderful camaraderie with your Silk Dog friends.
Your HSDAA board has been meeting monthly working toward tightening up our club, improving communi-
cation, promoting our breed and our breed’s health. To really understand where our breed is health-wise, the
HSDAA Health Committee has compiled a very comprehensive health survey for our breed. The survey itself
only takes about 10 minutes to complete, so I hope you all will take the time to complete the survey for each of
your Havana Silk Dogs. The link for the survey is

.
There
were a couple of glitches in the survey program initially, so if you had problems, please log on and try again.
Planning for the 2013 HSDAA National Specialty has begun! The event will once again be held in Virginia
Beach at the Wyndham Oceanfront Hotel. The dates for the show are Thursday, October 24, for seminars, and
two shows, one Friday, October 25, and the Specialty will span Saturday, October 26, and Sunday, October 27,
2013. Planning has just begun for this show so there is still time for you to have input!
The committee for the show still has lots of openings. If you’d like to help out please email me

with clicker training, preparing for Canine Good Citizen (CGC), preparing for Therapy Dog, photography,
nutrition, show grooming, pet grooming, Rally-O, Obedience, handling, etc. Tell us what you’d like to learn
and we’ll try to make it happen! Please email Ann at acarille7@gmail.com
It was great seeing so many old friends and new at the Tarheel Classic in Durham, NC, and I hope to see many
of you in Chicago at the Magnificent Mile Classic; in Temecula, California, at the 3rd Annual SOCAL Classic;
and then in Richmond, Virginia, at the Blue Ridge Silk Lovers’ Classic!
Cheers!
